Weiss’ Weekly Watch

Micahel Wycke - Assocaited Press

The University of Tennessee (20-1) that already has non-league victories over Gonzaga and Louisville and has won a school record 16 straight games is three games away from an epic Feb. 16 showdown against Kentucky at Rupp Arena. The Vols, who are 8-0 in the SEC, played one of their best games of the season during a 93-76 victory over Texas A &M in which forward Grant Williams scored 21 points and four others hit double figures. Tennessee shot 64.1 percent and had 28 assists on 40 field goals. Rick Barnes has always been a successful coach but this may be his best coaching job ever, with the possible exception of his 2003 Texas team that reached the Final Four.
